Getting Started

Accessing Your Account

  1. Check your email for a registration link from your training provider
  2. Click the link and create your password
  3. Complete your profile with accurate information
  4. You’re ready to start!

Important: Use the same email address your training provider registered you with.

Understanding Your Dashboard

When you log in, you’ll see:

  • My Progress: Overall completion percentage
  • Upcoming Deadlines: Tasks and submissions due soon
  • Recent Activity: Latest feedback and notifications
  • Quick Actions: Common tasks like uploading evidence

Submitting Evidence

Step 1: Check What’s Required

Before uploading, understand what evidence you need:

  1. Navigate to My Programme
  2. Click on a module
  3. View Evidence Requirements
  4. Note the file types accepted and any specific instructions

Step 2: Prepare Your Files

Before uploading:

  • Name files clearly: Module1_Task1_YourName.pdf
  • Check file size: Maximum 25MB per file
  • Accepted formats: PDF, Word, Images (JPG, PNG), Video (MP4)
  • Scan quality: Ensure documents are readable

Step 3: Upload Evidence

  1. Navigate to Evidence → Upload
  2. Select the module and evidence type
  3. Click Choose File or drag and drop
  4. Add a brief description
  5. Click Submit

Step 4: Track Your Submission

After uploading:

  • Status shows as Pending Review
  • You’ll receive notification when reviewed
  • Check Evidence → My Submissions for updates

Workplace Logbooks

  • Daily/weekly activity logs

Checking Your Progress

Module Progress

  1. Navigate to My Programme
  2. Each module shows completion percentage
  3. Green = Complete, Yellow = In Progress, Grey = Not Started

Assessment Results

  1. Navigate to Assessments → My Results
  2. View outcomes: Competent, Not Yet Competent
  3. Read assessor feedback
  4. Check re-assessment dates if applicable

Overall Progress

Your dashboard shows:

  • Total credits achieved vs. required
  • Time remaining in programme
  • Predicted completion date

Getting Help

If Your Evidence Is Rejected

Don’t panic! Read the feedback carefully:

  1. Check Evidence → My Submissions
  2. Click on the rejected item
  3. Read the assessor’s feedback
  4. Make the required changes
  5. Resubmit with corrections

Requesting Extensions

If you need more time:

  1. Contact your facilitator through skillSYMS
  2. Navigate to Messages → New Message
  3. Explain your situation
  4. Request a specific new deadline

Technical Issues

For technical problems:

  1. Try refreshing the page
  2. Clear your browser cache
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Contact your training provider’s admin

  1. Last-Minute Uploads: Upload early to avoid deadline stress
